The Exploration Resource Assessment Department is seeking a top Geological Specialist – Resource Assessment Specialist.

Working in a multidisciplinary reservoir assessment team, you will plan and lead studies to assess original hydrocarbons in-place through building high-resolution models.

You will have fundamental knowledge of fluid properties to determine hydrocarbons in-place, be able to conduct probable reserves assessments, and perform risk analysis studies for the business to help develop quality plays.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate, you will have a bachelor’s degree in geology, petrophysics, or geophysics. Preferably, you will hold a master’s degree and doctorate.

You will have 10 or more years of industry experience. Preferably, this experience will have been acquired in an oil major or independent oil company.

Possess a comprehensive knowledge of PRMS, and have a working knowledge of probabilistic reserves assessment methods and risk analysis.

Advanced knowledge of Excel and VBA is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Plan and lead studies to assess original hydrocarbons in-place through building high-resolution models using the Petroleum Resource Management System (PRMS).

Manage quality control on reservoir top- and base-structure maps, integrate logs, cores, pressure, DST/CHT, fluid data, determine original fluid contacts, calculate and prepare net-pay maps, and compute pore and hydrocarbon pore volume.

Use industry standard 3D modeling software, and have knowledge of reservoir drive mechanism, simulation, and potential recoveries.

Perform rock typing using logs and SCAL data, and build saturation height models.

Project planning and management, report writing and presentation skills in English are essential.
