Description

Due to continued growth, fantastic opportunities are available for Freelance Engineering Geologists/Geotechnical Engineers and Geo-Environmental Engineers to join Taylor’s Geotechnical to become an approved contractor of only the best Geologically and Environmentally focused team. Based anywhere within the UK, the successful Freelance Engineering Geologists/Geotechnical Engineers and Geo-Environmental Engineers will earn £200 to £400+ per day dependent on experience, skills and specific contract.

Reporting to a Site Manager or Senior Engineer, the successful Freelance Engineering Geologists/Geotechnical Engineers and Geo-Environmental Engineers will work on infrastructure projects in all manner of Geologically and Environmentally focus such as Ground Stabilisation, Drilling and Grouting, Intrusive Site Investigations, Environmental Engineering, taking samples for Laboratory Testing, In Situ Testing and Monitoring, Earthworks, Gas and Water monitoring, and contaminated land liaising directly with client consultants and project managers while having a keen eye on health and safety improvement and a supportive working environment that champions personal development.

Responsibilities

As Freelance Engineering Geologists/Geotechnical Engineers and Geo-Environmental Engineers, your core responsibilities will include:

  •  Soil and Rock Logging to BS5930 and Eurocode 7
  • Supervise drilling rigs such as (but not limited to) Cable Percussion, Rotary and Window Sampler
  • In-Situ geotechnical soil testing
  • Site Supervision and management
  • Use maps to find borehole location in conjunction with service drawing. Filling out permits to dig and completing safety briefing with staff
  • Supervision and Logging of Boreholes and trail pits
  • Gas and Ground Water Monitoring

Requirements

Passionate within Geology/Environment, with demonstrable experience within the appropriate sector, the successful Freelance Engineering Geologists/Geotechnical Engineers and Geo-Environmental Engineers will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of site investigations / Contaminated land / Earthworks
  • Driving Licence
  • BSc Geological Sciences/Environmental Sciences
  • Passionate about Geology/Environment
