On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Consultant with experience of waste facility development and permitting.
Our client is a successful independent consultancy with particular expertise in the waste management and brownfield land development sectors. They are retained by all the major waste companies and work closely with other specialist consultancies to deliver successful multidisciplinary projects.
The position would be based at our offices in their Merseyside (close to Warrington), Leeds or Colchester office.
You will be working with an established successful team preparing regulatory applications to support the development of major waste management facilities including treatment plants, EfW and landfills. The work will include the preparation of Environmental Permits and planning applications. Depending on your skills, experience and interests there will also be opportunities to work on a wide range of related technical, scientific, and engineering subjects, including environmental impact studies, risk assessments, technical design, civils contract management, site investigations and contaminated land assessment.
The successful applicant would be expected to effectively liaise with our clients and the regulatory authorities. Good written and personal communication skills are essential together with a thorough and up to date understanding of the relevant regulatory regimes.
Applicants for the Senior Consultant position should have a minimum of 7 yrs experience of waste regulation (Salary benefits package £32k-£38k).
The work is multidisciplinary and we will consider candidates from a wide variety of technical backgrounds including; geo-environmental, air quality, chemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology and civil engineering.
Chartered status and/or membership of a relevant scientific or engineering professional institution would be an advantage.
Applicants should have a relevant first degree and preferably a higher degree.
