We are looking for a Senior/Principal level Geotechnical Engineer to lead the team through management, direction, sign off and business development. You will have direct impact on a small UK Consultancy team of approximately 8 people.
The position provides an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, energetic and capable individual who is confident in communicating effectively with colleagues, multi-disciplinary teams, contractors and regulatory authorities and able to demonstrate competency in decision making during site works.
- Geotechnical Design
- Essential: Retaining Walls, Foundation Design, Slope Stability.
- Advantageous: Finite Element Analysis, Pile Design.
- Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or CGeol,
- Business development experience is advantageous,
- Management experience is advantageous.
Working independently or as part of a project team, delivering high quality work and achieving client-led deadlines, you will have a strong understanding of site investigation techniques (familiar with most in situ testing methods, trial pitting, dynamic sampling, cable percussive drilling, auger drilling, conventional rotary), geotechnical knowledge including foundation design and slope stability, mining investigations, contaminated land and planning.
You will also be familiar with scheduling laboratory testing (chemical and geotechnical) and have the ability to interpret results, write factual and interpretative reports, conduct walkovers and perform a variety of site investigation fieldwork tasks.
Competency in the logging of soils to EN ISO 14688 and Eurocode 7 as well as up-to-date environmental guidance such as BS10175 is essential.
This role requires a full UK driving licence.
