Rockstaff is seeking to recruit an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support the geotechnical survey and consultancy teams for our client in Norfolk. We will be accepting applications from candidates with a range of experience levels. Remuneration package will vary depending on experience.
The geotechnical engineer will be expected to acquire and process high quality geotechnical data and will undertake basic offshore laboratory testing and soil and rock testing. The production of factual geotechnical reports will be required while working in the field.
You will be responsible for offshore and onshore geotechnical project data and sample collection, laboratory testing and reporting of findings.
This role requires you to spend periods at sea as well as periods in the office. Full training will be provided. You will also be required to pass appropriate medical and survival course upon joining.
Whist offshore, the Geotechnical engineer will be required to carry out offshore geotechnical activities in line with industry accepted standards and company principles, along with following instruction from the party chief/OPM.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with geotechnical data, quality control and processing of CPT data along with good technical report writing skills and a basic understanding of laboratory testing.
A good knowledge of the software including gINT, ArcView, GlobalMapper is also preferable for this role. The candidate will also be familiar with GIS, Geodetics and basic map work.
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised BSc degree or equivalent in Geotechnics or civil engineering.
